Advanced Technologies and Information Services (ATIS) is a department within the Johns Hopkins University Welch Medical Library. ATIS is charged with supporting the academic missions of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions through information technology and knowledge management. These efforts are largely web-based and directed toward supporting the academic missions of these entities.
In addition, ATIS provides technical support to the School of Medicine's Office of Academic Computing (OAC). OAC combines resources and personnel from the Dean's Office and the Welch Medical Library to further the School's mission of excellence in education through the use of technology. OAC's charge is to make the day-to-day tasks in education easier as well as to support the faculty in the development of highly innovative educational tools that will invigorate the learning process.
Located in Suite 1-200 of the 2024 Building, ATIS consists of 15 staff that loosely fall into the following groups: desktop and network services, system and database services, and applications development and support.
